APRIL 17, 2006 Credit Card Consumerism: {the new opiate of the masses}
In the 19th century, a man who studied the social fiber of Europe coined a phrase that became very popular. His phrase was “the opiate of the masses”. Of course, he tied it to religion. In the twentieth century the same phrase was attached to television. Today we live in a time where this phrase is a perfect fit to be connected to credit card consumerism in America. The idea behind the “opiate of the masses” is that it puts people to sleep. It puts them in a state of apathy towards their circumstances. It makes them ignore the circumstances of the environment that needs serious and radical change. It makes them apathetic to the serious circumstances that slowly sap the life out of their lives. They become dead and buried to the situations all around them because they have gotten addicted to the opiates. There is nothing wrong with the opiates, in and of themselves. We are not a proponent of religious fanaticism here. This is reality. Just like there is nothing wrong with credit card consumption in and of itself. It is only a problem when the use actually creates harm by prolonged abuse, and it becomes a chronic addiction. THE GAMEIf you begin to understand something about drug use in general,… then you will see a bigger picture of what is happening here with credit card consumption,… as it is being used here in America in the 21st century.
Today there is something like 40 to 50 million Americans (I am talking legal Americans) that are strung out on credit card consumerism. And the mass of people grow by the millions every year. We need to see why this is the way it is. We can do that by looking at drug addictions. IF YOU THINK DRUG ADDICTION IS CAUSED BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE ADDICTIVE PERSONALITIES,… THEN YOU ARE BEING DUPED. Although there always has been, and always will be a certain small percentage of the population of every civilization that will be addicted to drugs throughout time,… and there is nothing you can do about it,… It is like being born homosexual, it is what it is,… but it is not the norm. But this is not what is behind the kind of drug problems we have in our society today. (And do not forget you are viewing “the opiate of the masses” line of thinking here).When you take out the tiny little percentage of people that would be addicted to drugs no matter what,… then you still have an overwhelming majority of people still actually addicted to drugs. Why is it this way??? This is very easy to understand. Pure and simple,… their problems are more than they want to have to deal with and they find something that can make them forget about the problems for a moment in time. As the problems mount and become overwhelming, because of the environment they live in, then they go to the thing that makes them forget more and more often. Before they even know it they are drug addicts. This same exact principle is what is behind the credit card consumerism in our nation today. We are promised a bill of goods and we believe the promises,… especially at election time. We are promised a certain standard of living like what it was in the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. Yet none of the policies of this nation are helping that to be a reality today for the common people of America. If you are one of the lucky people of wealth and means then maybe you will not see it this way. However, this is exactly what it is. We are under the premise that we have a certain standard of living. But the reality is that the politics of globalization and military matters do not reflect the standard of living we have all been promised. Being able to actually see this reality is being blocked by the machines that influence thinking, to insure we do not see this clearly. And because we expect a certain lifestyle as Americans, then why would it be so difficult to think that we should live this way? Even if we have to hawk our very futures for this standard? This is the game that is being run on the common people of America. And this is what is behind the opiate of the masses with regards to credit card consumerism. SOLUTIONS I do not believe anyone should expose something as profound and shattering as this reality is to the populous, without some kind of (action taking) solutions attached to it. So I am not going to do that.
The solutions are actually simple ones that take a great deal of motivation and strategy to implement. It will actually require three things to turn this around. #1. Nothing scares politicians as much as protesting in the streets. This is why they do all they can to suppress it. That is why you are in a state of apathy right now. Because in the 1960’s and 70’s we saw this stuff go on and it changed things and shook things up just like Thomas Jefferson said it would. Every message you get, and every spin put on the truth of something, and every promise made to you, is designed to calm you down and make sure you stay blind to the real truth of what is going on. If you knew the real truth and saw through the great facade of what is happening, you would rise up in the true anxiety that all of this stuff is causing you in your very personal lives. But you notice that this protest in the streets has not gone on since the Nixon administration? Why do you think this is? Do you really think the mass of Americans actually like all the things that go on in the nation? Do you think Americans really enjoy the greed of giant corporations that want to move jobs out of the nation because it makes their profits much, much higher? At the expense of the good of the nation, by the way. Is there something wrong with just making a few billions and sharing, in terms of making your nation a better place to live for its citizens, rather than making hundreds of billions and screwing your own people to do it?
Do you really think Americans enjoy having companies with billions and billions of dollars at their access hire excellent and politically astute lobbyists? Lobbyists who can line a few pockets and get special favors from politicians,… these politicians who are so rich already that they just do not care about common people?
Do you really think that as the numbers climb by the millions of Americans weekly who can’t afford to live a normal standard of living that their parents and grandparents enjoy,… that we are really happy about that!? That we really think that it is in the best interest of America? No! No one is happy with the present policies except the rich and very rich. And that is only because they have more than enough to ride everything out as long as it takes to bring this nation to a horrible end,… while corporations bolster up other nations so they can create more costumers on a global scale. If no one can see this as a betrayal OF THE VERY NATION THAT MADE THEM RICH IN THE FIRST PLACE,… I have to say that I sure can. #2. Bring a temporary ban on ALL lobbying. Stop the globalization policies. Stop the companies from doing business as usual to screw the common people of America. Stop pouring the nations wealth out of the nation. Stop running scams on the American people. And I am not even going to address the problem with illegal aliens at the borders who come over here and live off us while we take good care of them and make sure they have enough wealth to pour back into Mexico. #3. And this is probably the most serious of all. Because this requires that you wake up and become enlightened to what is actually going on here. This requires that you abandon apathy and that you take action. This requires that you become informed. Armed with that information, that you begin to vote members out of Congress,… out of the Senate,… out of the Judiciary (repeal appointments). These members have not acted in the interest of what is good for the nation,… and that proof alone says they never will. Right now the game of politics is seriously rigged. You have to be an honest to goodness millionaire just to play. You have to be connected to the rich and very rich just to even enter the game. And should you care more about the good of the American people over the good of special interests that would rob the American people of being allowed to live American standards of life,… you can’t enter the game. This has got to be stopped!!! And I mean yesterday!!! I know this is super brief. But frankly, if you manage to hold your attention on this long enough to have even read this far,… then we are getting somewhere. The apathy of the American people is what is killing us. We have an enemy within that is stealing our wealth from each of our own houses, and we are too oblivious to even notice and really care enough to do anything about it. This is why you are on the opium pipe right now. And every time you go nuts trying to live the way your parents and grandparent lived, and have a decent lifestyle,… you are just losing more and more of your very life-force to the already trillion dollar companies who seek to control everything. Now there is a lot of things I did not bother with,… like medical industries. Like military complexes,… like insurance companies. Like the food industry, like your very own neighborhood groups who tell you how your house has to be,… that is if you can afford a house. But this is just the first one of these so you can begin to have something to think about.
Our kids are quickly growing up FEB. 20TH 2006 In this nation of ours, we offer serious entitlement to our youth. We give our kids every break and every cool thing that we think is good to have. We have been doing this for a while now. Long enough to actually see the outcome of it. All this is good,... however,... what is happening before our eyes? These kids do eventually have to grow up and function in the world outside the boundaries of the home of the parents. What is it we are really teaching future adult Americans (which is what they are)??? What are we really offering them as tools, to have and hold, to get along in the America they will come into. Are we offering them a future they can deal with the moment they step into it? Or are we giving them a false sense of entitlement, without having to earn that entitlement? Are we teaching them that they are the future of America (because they really are),... or are we teaching them that they can figure out creative schemes and manipulation to get what they want? I fervently believe the greatest harm ever done to our own youth here in America was taking the authority of the parents, over the raising and guiding of their own kids, to impose the painful consequence of a good spanking away from the parents. It has now been over 20 years of this same kind of thinking. Where are we now??? Our future (that would be our kids) have belief systems that are re-enforced, that truly and honestly believe that they are entitled to be respected and held free of true responsibility (actually indulged) by their own parents, or else they will give no respect. DOES ANYONE SEE ANYTHING AT ALL WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???!!! This idiot nonsense of not enforcing basic (not religious fundamentalism) moral value and ethics into our kids is in place because of some psycho-babble that certain groups of powerful idiot sociologists and psychologists came up with as some dissertation theory,... and were powerful and connected enough to get it written into legislative laws. We allowed it. They have now experimented for over two decades on the fabric of the future of this nation. And where has it gotten us as a nation? We now have kids and young adults that are part of the blanket society, that just don't fri gin get it! They pull all kinds of shenanigans,... they carry guns without thinking,... they use that same kind of manipulation and creative schemes they used on their parent growing up (with no consequences of serious relevance) on society. Then we as a nation have the audacity to ask them, "what is wrong with you?". Are we just soooo busy trying to keep up with our possessions that we just don't see anymore??? I really don't think this is it. I think it has to do with the idea that the laws make any responsible person ponder on the serious idea of "IS THIS REALLY WORTH IT"??? When the Government first began to impose these laws and strip the parents of their rights and dignities over the kind of children they would raise,... the media broadcasted parents going to jail. The kids would call the police on their parents. The whole thing was a uniquely American fiasco. And now,... all these years later,... what has been the outcome. If you have not connected these kids going into schools and killing each other, or stealing with no consequence of even a tinge of conscience,.. or doing whatever they want to do, and then just blatantly challenging someone to touch them and get sued,... then you are just not putting the dots together. I know all this nonsense makes us all apathetic,... but we can at least look at it and ponder the serious consequences it is having on the fabric of society. There is one thing about this nation,... it is filled the brim with parents. If we all demanded an end to this irresponsible idiocy,... an end would come of it. But that needs a serious examination of what it is first. Of the outcome of this stupidity and harm to our nation's future well being,... as a whole fabric. When the society imposes restrictions on the ability of parents to enforce values and ethical and simple moral behaviors on their own flesh and blood, then that society is undoing thousands of years of real and simple wisdom that it had to get so powerful in the first place. This is comparable to shooting ourselves in the foot and then wondering why we don't walk straight anymore. No-one is saying to take the youth out and tie them to a tree and beat them half to death,... but for some reason this is what the afore mentioned idiots have made it out to be. We need to look at something else here of serious relevance: THIS SOCIETY PARTICIPATES IN A LOT OF SOMETHING CLOSE TO CHILD WORSHIP. When love is no longer enveloped in wisdom and the outcome that this love produces in the future,... then is it really love we are giving our kids??? Or is this permissive indulgence to behave anyway they think is correct? Since the kids have lived so long and learn from TV,... oh, they must have sound wisdom, huh??^%$# We have somehow gotten away from the serious and very real truth that all these kids will one day be fully grown Americans that are just a part of American society as we are right now. We are being apathetic to it all because we do not want to be hassled by governing laws that are so stupid as to steal away the ability of the actual American parents to imput on the future of America itself. But where is this getting us??? I honestly believe that if we, the people of THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ever came to grips with the total reality of what is happening to us,... we would send out an outcry so loud that the very doors of the WHITE HOUSE would quake and tremble. Do you think for even one second that any member who is smart enough to get him/her self elected to a congressional office, does not understand what is happening to the future of this nation???!!! Well,.. I have to tell you that they very much do know what is happening here. They know what is happening now. Is this why we the "people pay" them 120 thousand a year, give them free medicine and free perks, give them a 100% pension for the rest of their lives??? Give them free transportation and every break and amenity that we have imagined??? To put us in positions where we become apathetic to all of what is happening? Who do you think tweaks the way the system we live in works??? Do you believe that it is correct for even one second that we have to take to the streets to get anything done. And on that note,... even the nations of the mid-East that we are at odds with have a better system of protest than we do. We see it on the news every day. They make more of an impact on the White house than even we 'the people of this nation" do. DOES ANYONE SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? I could honestly scare the hell out of you right now if I began to connect all these dots for you. But it would be so overwhelming for you to get all at once that you simply would dismiss it and not want to think it over. So I do not want to do that because it will not cause you to begin to think. I and many other Americans love our nation,... we love the kids of our nation,... we love the way we do things in our nation,... BUT DON'T YOU THINK SOME CHANGES ARE IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS NATION A BETTER PLACE FOR BOTH THE HERE AND NOW AND THE FUTURE???
